With what we save on the new ticket prices we could do a whip round to pay Charlton and Orient "fans" to stay away.

So has this resurfaced because the writer got wind of the season ticket prices slash and attempted to whip up a bit of scandal?

The other clubs and their cronies are all shitting their pants; likewise the media "Top 5" arselickers, who are terrified clubs like West Ham / Southampton etc are gatecrashing the CL party.

THAT is why they are all backing Sam... it's not because they're his mates, it's because they know if we keep him we'll never amount to anything.

Big brave step needed by Sulli at seasons end, or all this glorious opportunity will have been pissed away.

Oh, and 'cheaper seats' won't pacify the fans... we have HAD IT WITH ALLARDYCE and you keep him at your peril.

What financial advantage we enjoy will be thanks to the TV broadcasters and what raise through matchday revenue will only be a factor if we are successful, leaving the only argument that the Olympic Stadium gives an unfair advantage is that it allows us to sustain it in a way the Boleyn Ground wouldn't, and that situation is a long way off so really can't see on what grounds any complaint would be upheld.

Re: The Guardian: A lack of transparency in the deal that led to Premier League club’s move to the Olymp
How about we pay a bit more rent, but get to keep more money from the naming rights ? Or we pay more rent and get the option to buy the OS outright in ten or twenty years and do with it what we want ?

Spurs, Hearn and parts of the media seem to want it both ways: West Ham should NOT own the OS or have too much rights attached to it, yet we are supposed to pay for the majority of the conversion costs, 15 million rent a season if possible AND allow all sorts of other sporting events to happen there too.

Spurs and Orient made sure we couldn't own it.
The rest of it, our deal including a reasonably low rent are all a direct result for having to find an anchor tenant that would only rent, but not own.
Well Mr.Levy and Mr.Hearn, that kind of deal is what you get for your efforts.

Now stop moaning FFS!

It's being used for the Rugby World Cup...

It's being used for European and World athletics events...

It's being used for Essex County Cricket Club...

It's being used by for music events...

It's being used by the general public...

It's being used for community events...

It will probably be used for American Football and all that kind of shit...

It is not just our stadium... We're not the only ones using it... Why the fuck should we pay any more money toward the conversion costs and annual-rent?!?!...

We may be the main anchor-tenant but it's being used by a whole host of other sports and music and community events...

In short; this story and wankers moaning that we should be paying more can fuck the fuck off as it's fucking ludicrous and moronic to even suggest that we should...

We're a tenant that is paying rent... It's not our fucking ground...

Re: The Guardian: A lack of transparency in the deal that led to Premier League club’s move to the Olymp
I really cannot see how an agreement to use a venue a set amount times a year against one that allows use all year round is comparable?

In fact if the rental cost of the venue is say £100,000 a day then what we are paying out doesn't seem too unreasonable to taxpayer especially as there is amble opportunity to rent it out further against us paying say £4m a year for sole occupancy with no chance of raising further revenue.

Any benefits financially we might be deemed to be getting from the move is pure speculation until it happens and if it does it will be because we have been successful and it will be a seen as a minor issue even if proven as it will be some years before any action can be taken.

"Steve Clarke, of the Charlton Athletic Supporters Trust, said that they did not object to West Ham moving into the stadium but had a problem with the terms, which they argued would give West Ham an unfair advantage. “West Ham have been given an advantage not just against Charlton but against clubs across London and throughout the League. Their buying power in the transfer market will be instantly enhanced,”"

Furthermore, that has nothing to do with the government, it's not their job to worry about the terms creating an "unfair" advantage.

What the fuck has that got to do with anything? We won't have an advantage over Arsenal or Spurs for a start and clubs that are bought by rich owners automatically have their buying power enhanced so would this cunt moan if we were bought by some Arab businessman who chucked silly money into the club?

It's not our fucking stadium... Why should we pay any fucking more towards the conversion costs and for rent?!?!...

Other sports, music events and the community in general will also be using the stadium...

Newham council are sticking a lot of money into it but the rewards are that it will create 1000s of jobs and it will also be accessible for use by the local community...

Fucking hell... Is it really that hard for people in the media to grasp?!?!...

Some people are so fucking stupid it's unreal...

Well the argument is that you would be taking potential fans, which, given the jubilee line runs through se London and the javelin coming in from Kent, is a fair concern, but hardly something you can monetise and sue for. Just like any other stuff about west ham being liable. Its complete bollocks that will get impressionable people excited but holds no real water.

Re: The Guardian: A lack of transparency in the deal that led to Premier League club’s move to the Olymp
Can you actually nick fans ? You could give me free tickets to Chelsea, I still wouldn't go, at least not to cheer them on.

And if the argument is about stealing new fans who haven't yet chosen their club: Do people actually choose their club this way, by becoming fans of a club they maybe got a free ticket for once ?

I think there is a lot more to it. Sometimes your choice of club happens accidentally. Sometimes you don't even have much of a choice if your family just passes the support on.
Let's hope West Ham are for a change legally watertight on the OS issue and have nothing to fear.

Charlton have got some front saying we'll be stealing they're fans. What about the coaches they ran,and possibly still do,from all over Kent when in the premier league.Remember Gillingham doing they're bollocks at the time, and accusing them of nicking they're fans.
